The Red Rock Hounds There are plenty of shoots that go perfectly fine, some things work, some things don't, everybody has a good day. And then there are shoots like this. It's hard to express in words the kind of energy this group has but I think perhaps it's that when they are on these hunts, they're totally in the moment. You can tell it's really not about the hunt itself but the people on it, the horses and hounds with them, and being together. Over the course of a few days I got to hang out with the Red Rock Hounds club, in open desert and follow vehicles, in cold drizzle and bright sunshine, documenting the rituals of the hunt and the joy of the dogs, all while keeping an eye out for rattlesnakes. We finished up each day with a hearty "hunt breakfast", an ever changing menu prepared by members on a rotational basis.
