RED ROCK HOUNDS
One of my favorite aspects of being a food photographer is how many different parts of life food touches. It means I could be be in wine country one week for an upscale brand and crammed into a small mom and pop tamale shop the next (this happened.). In this case, I was assigned this story on the Red Rock Hounds, a traditional English style "Fox and Hound" riding club north of Reno, Nevada, because they had a luncheon after their hunts. The food pictures were fun to shoot, but they paled in comparison to following these guys through the Nevada desert. In 2016, I won 1st place in the Nevada Press Association awards for Multiple Photo Essay. It remains one of my all time favorite assignments.
